Cleaning in a Snap: All About Electric Pressure Washers

If you like to keep your home looking good not just inside but out, then a pressure washer is going to help you to do just that.

Pick up a pressure washer made by someone like Karcher, and you instantly have some added cleaning power in your hands to keep your patio and decking looking really clean. There are plenty of other jobs they can help you with too, such as cleaning the cars and keeping the fascias spotless.

Here are some tips and advice to help you get the most from your pressure washer.

Plan Your Clean

Now that you are the proud owner of a pressure washer, you will want to be getting to work on using it to clean the patio, amongst other things.

Before you actually start washing, take a moment to plan out your route and make sure that the pressure washer is ideally positioned to let you reach all the areas that you want to and get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Too Intense

It makes sense to follow a pressure washer intensity rule, as it can help avoid any accidental damage of items around the garden.

Try and work on the basis that the softer the target, the further away you should stand and the larger the fan of water that you should use. Standing too close to the target area you are washing can result in the jet of water being too intense, so just be aware of things like flowerbeds nearby and start further away from your target area and edge forward until you get the right flow that you are happy with.

It is always better to start further away and create a larger angle of spray at first, then move forward until you find the right level of power in the spray to clean the area or object without any worries.

Patience Will Be Rewarded

Your pressure washer is a powerful ally and will help you to successfully complete many cleaning jobs outside.

Despite its obvious power washing attributes, sometimes it will take more than one round of spraying to clear away stubborn dirt and grime. If the dirt has been allowed to build up it may well require a bit of patience to ensure that you get a good cleaning result in the end. Your pressure washer will no doubt be able to handle stubborn dirt, it just may take another going over to rid your garden of the problem altogether.

Cleaning Products

It is always worth bearing in mind that water is a solvent. So if the built-up grime does not clear with the first application, let it soak for a couple of minutes and rewash the area again.

You will be surprised how effective your pressure washer can be without having to use additional cleaning products to help get the target surface clean.

If you do need a helping hand, then use one of the recommended patio cleaners or similar cleaning products that are specifically designed to be used with your pressure washer.
